Hammertoe is a structural deformity in which abnormal biomechanics cause the toe to contract at one, two or three of the joints within that toe.

In its early stages the deformity is flexible, but with inappropriate footwear can cause irritation in the dislocated joint and eventually form a corn.

Our office can relieve the painful symptoms with debridement, use of topical medicaments and protective padding as well as advice on footwear. In severe cases surgical correction may be necessary.
