COVID-19

Important Information Regarding COVID-19

At the Gold Coast Foot Clinic, we are focused on the well-being of every person who steps through our clinic door. We would like to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and are regularly updating our policies

and procedures according to recommendations from the government and the Department of Health.

The Australian Minister for Health, The Hon Greg Hunt MP has confirmed that all Allied Health businesses including Podiatry can remain open in Queensland and is urging all people with chronic health conditions to not neglect their regular health care

Safety measures in place at the Gold Coast Foot Clinic for in-clinic care

The Gold Coast Foot Clinic adheres to the highest standards for hygiene and infection prevention and control measures. We have also implemented several additional and recommended precautions in relation to COVID-19:

  • Unwell patients will be politely asked to leave immediately and advised to get a COVID-19 test
  • All patients and carers must clean their hands using the provided hand sanitiser upon entry.
  • Increased frequency of disinfection of communal surfaces, including door handles, waiting room chairs, pens etc
  • Provision of a bin for immediate disposal of tissues
  • Removal of magazines from the waiting room to minimise surfaces touched by multiple people
  • Removal of excess chairs from waiting room to facilitate social distancing
  • Only essential visitors to enter (for mobility/translation purposes), all others must wait outside
  • If our waiting area reaches the allowed maximum person limit for the space available, we may ask you to wait outside the clinic for a short time (extra chairs have been provided)
  • Only one person can enter the treatment room with the podiatrist unless an additional person is medically required
  • In between patients, the treatment rooms and equipment are thoroughly cleaned by our podiatrists using hospital-grade detergent and disinfectant
  • Podiatrists will always wear a mask during treatment
  • All staff members have completed the Department of Health’s COVID-19 Infection Control Training
  • All staff have downloaded the COVID Safe Mobile App to their phone and activated it. Patients are also encouraged to download the app so they can be notified if they have been in contact with someone who tests positive to COVID-19.

Attendance at the Gold Coast Foot Clinic

We are asking patients to let us know if they are currently feeling unwell with symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, an unexpected loss of your taste or smell, vomiting and/or diarrhoea. Should this be the case, we are rescheduling appointments and requesting clearance by their GP or evidence of a returned negative test.

Following government guidelines, we are asking all people who have travelled internationally or interstate, been in close contact with someone who has recently returned or had close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient in the last 14 days, to please not present to the clinic. We look forward to welcoming these patients back following the appropriate period of quarantine.

Finally, on behalf of the Gold Coast Foot Clinic Team, we thank you for trusting us with your podiatry care and appreciate your patience, understanding and cooperation in relation to our COVID-19 guidelines and measures. We are committed to doing everything we can to ensure that we can continue to deliver a safe and reassuring service to all our valued patients. If you have any concerns regarding your upcoming appointment or need to contact us for any other reason, please feel free to telephone

our clinic directly on 07 5526 1988.
